Hi all; doing something a little different today. Instead of an interview this week, I've decided to share a story of my own: why I left New York. Now that I have a little distance from living there and have begin to meaningfully work through the ups and downs of what really happened during those ten years, I realized that it was important to share my journey in the week leading up to Thanksgiving. I know many of you are going through big life changes, and from the people I've talked to so far, it seems that the themes of letting go of something you once loved are truly universal. Whether you're in the process of leaving a relationship, a city, a lifestyle, a vocation, or a hobby, the underlying truth is that we are all fundamentally responsible for our own happiness. More importantly, letting go of something this big is truly a process. What matters is that we take ownership of where we re in that process and keep moving forward in it, no matter how painful it may be.
