I've always deeply admired songwriters. I've been playing guitar and singing since before I could talk, but I never really had a knack for rhyme or lyricism. My guest this week, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Katie Ludden, is kind of the opposite: she's been singing and writing catchy songs since she was a kid, but didn't start playing the guitar until she was twenty-nine. Through dedicated, deliberate daily practice, and the support of her LA songwriting group, she went from being able to play just two chords to performing multiple original songs on a weekly basis. Her latest single, "Liza," is already out, and if you're in the LA area, you can catch her release party on Monday, October 28th at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood.
