Today's episode is one that's very special to me, as it features one of my dearest friends, activist and theatre maker Theresa Burns! In addition to being an immensely talented actor, singer, dancer, director, and choreographer, Theresa is also passionate about social justice. As part of "Don't Dream It, Be - An Activist," she's currently directing and singing in a benefit concert for the ACLU at Feinstein's/54 Below in New York City on October 10th at 9:30PM. “Songs from Cult Classics to Benefit the ACLU” features a diverse cast of sixteen singing hits from shows like "Sideshow," "Zanna, Don't!" and "Heathers." In this episode, we talk about why the intersection between art and activism is so important, learning to listen to your gut brain, examining your own blind spots, and much, much more.
