37: Cyrus Zerbe

Today’s friend of the podcast got started on the drum kit at age 5. Plot twist – French Horn was his first instrument in school band! He continued to pursue music through higher education at Alma College in Michigan. During his time there, he won “outstanding soloist” at the Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival – one of the most esteemed jazz festivals around, where he soloed on drums, marimbas, and vibes during a single 30-minute set. The man moved to Seattle just over 6 months ago and has quickly – albeit quietly – become one of the busiest drummers in the scene.
