On today’s episode, I’m talking to sports medicine physician Dr. Cindy Chang about building a team.

Cindy is currently the Chief Medical Officer for the National Women’s Soccer League and one of my heroes in sports medicine. She is a Professor Emeritus in Family Medicine and Orthopedics at UCSF and the former head team physician at UC Berkeley. As the first Chief Medical Officer of the NWSL, Cindy is building medical care teams and protocols from the ground up, all in the name of these athletes’ health and well-being. For the first time ever on Madam Athlete, we’re breaking this up into two parts because there was just too much to share! This is part one of two of my conversation with Cindy.

We talk about:

Bringing all of your outside interests and past experiences to workApplying for jobs even when you’re not 100% qualifiedThe benefits of looking at roles outside of your current organization
