In Lord's Day 11 of the Heidelberg Catechism the question is asked, 'Why is the Son of God called 'Jesus,' that is, Savior? Followed by this answer, "Because He saves us from ours sins, and because salvation is not to be sought or found in any other." This is the starting point for this new and glorious subject.
