‘Overboard’ Plot Synopsis

In Overboard, Joanna Stayton is a wealthy woman who is a pain in the butt. When she hires carpenter Dean Proffitt to work on her yacht, she then refuses to pay him. Afterwards, she accidentally falls from the deck, and the resulting injury gives her amnesia. Her husband, Grant, then ditches her for her money, and Dean decides to take advantage of her memory loss to get revenge for not paying him. He convinces her that her name is Annie, and that they are married with four children. He then uses her as a servant, and along the way, the two fall in love. Eventually, when Grant and her memory returns, she goes back to her old life. However, she’s come to the realization her time with Dean was special, and the two reunite for a happy ending.
