Thank you for joining us for another episode of the Low Carb MD Podcast. In today’s episode, we deviate from our usual topics of conversation and turn to discuss current and recent events in the Middle Eastern country of Armenia. There is a war in progress between Turkey and Armenia that has yet to become widespread knowledge in the United States.
After hearing from Tro—who is of Armenian descent himself— about the history of Armenia, we begin to share and talk about the nation’s current state of affairs. We speculate as to why the war between Turkey and Armenia is not being covered widely in the American news. We discuss the root causes of racism, systemic oppression (both in the U.S. and in the world at large), and the importance of seeking to understand and be accepting of people of other cultures and faiths.
