The shadow consists of everything that we repress as a result of our conditioning, what we’re told is ‘not okay’. What was encouraged in the child is over-exaggerated in adulthood. Whatever is discouraged is pushed into the shadow. The unconscious shadow can do damage in all sorts of ways in relationship, career, self-worth, and mental health.
