Hey Everyone,

Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast.

Today, I covered S2E3: My Mother The Teacher, which aired on September 27, 1986.

In this episode due to a flu epidemic causing a teacher shortage, Joan becomes a substitute teacher in Jamie's class. All hell breaks lose when Jamie tells the kids that his mom being the teacher is gonna be easy peezy for them because she's a pushover. Spitballs and paper airplanes are flying and Vicki won't shut the hell up and let the other kids get a chance to answer the questions.

I couldn't believe the kids got angry over that, like they actually wanted to prove they knew the information they read out of their history books.

We got plenty of sexual innuendos from Ted as well as another reference to punishing Jamie in the form of spanking.

He's 11 years old, Ted. Can we just drop this spanking punishment already and just threaten to ground him.

Joan almost quits after some lame cornball childish pranks are played on her, such as wind up fake teeth, a whoopy cushion, a drawing of swamp thing or merman on the pull down map, snakes in a can.

This is harmless shit, that I'm surprised Joan didn't just laugh off. Jamie needs to take lessons from Bart Simpson in pranking teachers.

Joan ends up staying on as Jamie's teacher since his teacher is still very sick. I immediately thought, oh no, is it terminal?

Who knows, because they just brush it off like it doesn't matter.

This was an entertaining episode.

We also learn Ted is all about sex not just at night but also in the morning too.

My guess is he has to take care of that morning woody.

Join me next month when I cover S2E4: Here Comes The Judge, which aired on October 4, 1986.

In this episode Jamie takes a bribe while playing a judge in school.

We also get the reappearance of Warren. I hope this kid eventually stops being a pushover.

Have a great week everyone!
