Hey Everyone,

Angels Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast.

I hope you're having a good weekend so far.

It's time once again to visit Vicki and the Lawsons in S1E9: Slightly Dishonorable, which aired on November 2, 1985.

In this episode Jamie uses Vicky's new read-and-scan computer program to do his school reports for him. She does such a good job, though, that his teacher wants to move Jamie to the honors class. But when his parents find out, they give him the chance to come clean on his own.

Other observations from this episode:

Ted has no qualms about taking Joan from behind in the kitchen with Vicki present noting (she doesn’t understand what we’re doing), also you have an 8 year old nosy neighbor who I’m sure would love to report back to her even nosier parents about your kitchen escapades.

More jokes about Jamie being spanked. (I get it, we could get away with that on tv back then).

Jamie learns no lesson from having Vicki do his report even though he comes clean and is rewarded by going to that football game (granted Ted said the seats will be in the nosebleed section, but still he shouldn't get to go period).

To be honest if it were me I’d take him to the game but he’d be wearing a blindfold. That way he could only hear the game. (I know that sounds cruel)

Miss Sheets (come on,couldn’t you come up with a better name) makes house calls to students who were failing but suddenly get straight A’s. (Who does this?)

This episode was a stinker, I only rated it 2 out of 5 robots.

Join me in August when I cover a better episode S1E10: The Adoption, which aired on November 9, 1985.

In this episode When nosy Mrs. Brindle reports the Lawsons to child services for not having Vicky enrolled in school, the Lawsons rush to forge adoption papers. But their plan gets complicated when a doctor's exam is required - on their robot.

After the episode I kind of ramble about things, what books I read during my trip, my day off yesterday and etc.
