There is always this charge leveled at Murray Rothbard about being friends with David Duke and a member of the Klan. Charles Peralo and Austin Petersen have both made claims about this in an attempt to rebrand libertarianism as something different and something more in line with the brand they want to sell. But it's clear, when one does the research, that Rothbard was not supporting David Duke but Right Wing Populism. He felt that it was a movement libertarians could take advantage of on the political sphere. I disagree, but this is still a benign position compared to the strawman presented by Petersen and Peralo.
