Taking a Glass Half Full or Glass Half Empty Approach to the First Month of the Wild Season

On today's episode of Locked on Wild, we look at both the "glass half full" or "glass half empty" perspectives for a sluggish month of October for the Wild. On the "Glass Half Full" side, we discuss how the injuries to Jared Spurgeon and Matt Boldy have put them team in a hole early on, and especially in Spurgeon's shoes with defensive and special teams issues. We look at the fact that the offense has performed well in 5 on 5 compared to last year's abysmal numbers, and that Kirill Kaprizov hasn't started to do his usual Kirill Kaprizov things just yet. We move to the "Glass Half Empty" side, and admit that this team is looking very old, which is worrisome considering much of the group is now signed long term, and for aging vets the ability to turn back the clock isn't as easy the older you get. We also finish by discussing whether or not Bill Guerin could look to make another "hockey trade", like he did in acquiring both Ian Cole and Ryan Reaves early on over the last two seasons.
