Should the Wild make a Deadline Trade?

On today's episode of Locked on Wild, Alex Micheletti joins the show as we recap the end of the West Coast road trip for the Minnesota Wild. We look at what went wrong against the LA Kings and the Vegas Golden Knights. We also discuss the loss of Jonas Brodin and his impact on the Wild's defense. We look at why the Wild took way too many penalties in both games, while also being a couple of plays away from wins in both cases.

We move on to the idea of the Wild making a move at the deadline to improve their roster. Is it possible that the Wild have a repeat of the Martin Hanzal trade? Ultimately Bill Guerin is going to do what is best for the team, but it is tough to think of parting with the likes of Marco Rossi, Adam Beckman, Matt Boldy or Calen Addison. The chemistry of this Wild team has played largely into their success so far, so that is something to also take into consideration.

We finish the show by looking at this week's games against Carolina, Buffalo and Florida. None of the games will be easy, but the Wild have one of the best home ice advantages in the NHL so they should have a good shot at getting back into the win column. We finish by looking at Ryan Hartman and Marcus Foligno's season projections as they continue to shatter their previous season bests.
