On today's episode of Locked on Wild, Seth reviews the 2020-21 season for Nico Sturm, Nick Bjugstad and Nick Bonino.
For Sturm, we look at the numbers from his first full season in the NHL. We discuss what we liked about what Sturm brought to the lineup, where he can improve, and based on his numbers per 60 minutes, can we expect bigger things from Sturm if he gets more playing time?
For Bjugstad, we look at his 2020-21 numbers, and wonder if it makes sense to just have Bjugstad head elsewhere next year. While he did have some moments, Bjugstad didn't really contribute anything that a younger player with upside couldn't add on the 4th line next year.
We finish with Bonino, who had a very good season with the Wild and contributed in a bunch of different areas. Bonino helped solidify the power play, and is definitely worth looking to re-sign next season. But will the Wild be able to with limited funds and big extensions to hand out? We will find out!
