Locked on Wild PREGAME: Wild host Predators with Both Teams Struggling for Consistency

On today's episode of Locked on Wild, Nick Morgan of Locked on Predators joins for a crossover preview of tonight's game that both teams sorely need in the Western Conference Playoff chase. We start by discussing the Predators, who have been struggling lately with consistency, and those struggles have carried over to the usually steady Juuse Saros, who has been better as of late but is still well below his career averages in almost every statistical area. We also discuss former Wild forward Gustav Nyquist, who got off to a slow start in Nashville but has been on an absolute tear lately and is making the most of an opportunity the Wild could not give him in free agency in the offseason. Nick asks about the John Hynes tenure so far, in particular how he has handled key rookies Brock Faber and Marco Rossi. They also talk about the overall team play, and the areas such as in game adjustments that Hynes has been better at than Dean Evason was. In previewing the game tonight, Seth notes the similarities between both teams in goals for, Power Play and Penalty Kill, and why it will likely come down to being ready to play from the start and staying out of the box. IF the Wild think they are legitimately going to be able to climb back into a playoff spot, they HAVE to beat Western Conference teams ahead of them in the standings.
