The Minnesota Wild fell at home 3-2 to the Carolina Hurricanes at Xcel Energy Center to snap a 2 game winning streak. The Wild had leads of 1-0 and 2-1 on goals from Connor Dewar and Jonas Brodin, but the Hurricanes were able to bounce back both times to tie the score. The Hurricanes scored the go ahead goal on the Power Play in the third and Pyotr Kochetkov was able to quiet the high scoring Wild offense down the stretch. The Wild fall to 6 points behind Nashville for the final spot in the Western Conference playoff race, with pivotal games coming up against Nashville on Thursday, and St. Louis on Saturday. Filip Gustavsson stopped 25 of 28 shots in the loss. The Kaprizov-Boldy-Eriksson Ek line combined for 14 shots, but Kirill Kaprizov and Joel Eriksson Ek saw their points streaks snapped in the loss.
