Keeping an Eye on Iowa: 2022-23 Season Outlook with Ben Gislason

On today's episode of Locked on Wild, we begin our yearlong series called "Keeping an Eye on Iowa" by previewing the 2022-23 season with Iowa Wild play by play voice Ben Gislason. We start by looking at the expectations for the Iowa Wild heading into the year. With a younger roster are they going to be able to gel and move toward a playoff spot be season end? We look at some of the new faces, from Sammy Walker to Andrej Sustr to Jesper Wallstedt. We talk about Wallstedt's development and how he is acclimating to playing at the AHL level. We talk about a few of the players who have had a taste of NHL experience and are eager to make their mark with the Wild, such as Mitchell Chaffee and Adam Beckman. We finish by looking at 10 years of Iowa Wild hockey, and the newest chapters being written by the Iowa Heartlanders as part of the Minnesota Wild organization.
