On today's episode of Locked on Wild, we get ready for the Opening Night matchup against the Anaheim Ducks. We start by looking at last year's results, and how the Wild managed to win seven of the eight games despite almost every game being close. John Gibson had good numbers against the Wild despite only picking up one shutout win and the Ducks held Kirill Kaprizov to just one goal in the season series. We look at which team has the edge among their top 6 forwards, bottom 6 forwards, defensemen and goaltenders, with the Wild getting a slight edge in all of those categories. We finish the show by looking at key things the Wild will need to do to win, including a strong showing from the new top line, Cam Talbot, the back end of the Wild's defense, and Kevin Fiala's linemates. If all of that happens, the Wild should be able to start the year 1-0!
