Yasmani Grandal is on a mission to return to accustomed levels as the Chicago White Sox plan for 2023. Grandal had a disappointing 2022 season filled with injuries and his offensive production was below his standards. Grandal is in the last year of his contract and has stayed in Chicago this off season to get himself stronger, healthier and better prepared for the grind of 2023. What could go wrong for the White Sox this pat season definitely did. They found all sorts of interesting ways to lose games and struggled to find leadership once Tim Anderson was shelved with an injury in early August. Anderson clearly sets the tone for the White Sox. Would the organization try to give Anderson a contract extension to make him a member of the White Sox for rest of his career? Does Tim Anderson even want that or does he want to test free agency in a few years? The Sox would be wise to make a decision on Tim Anderson sooner rather than later.
