The Chicago White Sox made the Andrew Benintendi signing official as they now have a left fielder to play left field. It seems ridiculous to point out that the White Sox have signed a natural outfielder to play in left field but the Sox have made some odd decisions over the last several seasons. Benintendi automatically upgrades the defense and gives the Sox a much needed left-handed punch. Andrew Benintendi talked at the press conference about his excitement to join the already potent Sox lineup. He also said that the White Sox actively pursued him since the very beginning of the off-season. General manager Rick Hahn discussed why Benintendi is a perfect fit and why he has been after Benintendi's services for seven plus years. New Sox manager, Pedro Grifol, has prior experience with Benintendi from the Kansas City Royals days and believes Benintendi will be an excellent addition to the ballclub.
