The Chicago White Sox made it official and announced Pedro Grifol as their new manager. The White Sox held a press conference on Thursday morning to introduce Pedro Grifol as the 42nd manager in franchise history. General manager, Rick Hahn, was also on hand to talk about Pedro Grifol and provide insight into the hiring process. Grifol said all the right things and laid out some early plans on what fans can expect from the White Sox in 2023. Grifol prioritizes: communication, playing with passion as well as pride and fundamentally sound baseball. Hahn appeared very pleased to be taking the White Sox into this new direction. Former Toronto Blue Jays manager, Charlie Montoyo, will be the new Sox bench coach and Ethan Katz as well as Curt Hasler will be retained but fans should expect many new faces on the coaching staff. Grifol has an impressive resume however this will be his first MLB managerial experience. Can he get the players to buy into his message?
