Lucas Giolito turned in a solid outing but the Chicago White Sox were out of position and lost to the Twins, 3-1. Giolito bounced back from his miserable start against Pittsburgh last week and went six innings while only giving up one earned run. His pitches were competitive, he mixed up his locations and had a lot of movement on his changeup. Giolito looked like a completely different pitcher. He just needed a little offense and some serviceable defense... he got neither of those things on Wednesday afternoon. Sox score only one run on a solo homerun by Lenyn Sosa in the 9th inning. Gavin Sheets, who is not a right fielder, played in right field while Oscar Colas, an actual right fielder, was on the bench. Sheets completely botched a routine flyball to set the Twins up for success in the 4th inning. Sox bullpen did not help matters either. White Sox were 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position and fall to three games under .500. Sox have an off day on Thursday.
