The Chicago White Sox held on and beat the Seattle Mariners by one run during their long awaited Home Opener. It was a gorgeous day on the South Side and Vince Velasquez did his part before handing it over to the durable White Sox bullpen. Luis Robert showed off his speed, defense and power in the game. Robert made an outstanding catch in centerfield, then hit a laser beam homerun to left centerfield. Luis Robert stole two bases and came around to score a much needed White Sox insurance run i the 8th inning. Things got dicey in the 9th inning when Liam Hendriks gave up a run but ended up striking out the side to nail it down. The White Sox improve to 3-1 on the season.
