The Dallas Stars like many teams are limited with their options due to cap space and Matt Duchene is the current headliner of Stars due up for a new contract. On today's episode of Locked On Stars, we take a look at the current cap situation for the Dallas Stars and which may players may stay or test free agency. Ty Dellandrea and Sam Steel are two forwards that are intriguing, Dellandrea has been healthy scratched more of often than not this season, but is only 23 and teams may target him as a potential trade piece. Sam Steel has been a great addition for the Stars, but will he be looking for something more stable moving forward? However the Stars can let them both walk because Mavrik Bourque and Logan Stankoven look to be more than ready to make the jump up the NHL. We also look at defenseman Nils Lundkvist and Jani Hakanpaa and what their futures might hold. The second segment is a comparison of the 99 Stanley Cup Champion Stars and the current team. Yes this maybe a bit silly, but it is fun to take a look at the makeup and how much the game has changed in two decades.
