The Dallas Stars open training camp today with on-ice sessions in Cedar Park, Texas. There are dozens of players that will be fun to watch during the next several weeks. Today we dive into three specific players that you should keep an eye on during camp as well as Stars preseason games. Ty Dellandrea is a player that every Stars fan is familiar with, and he's going to be competing for a full-time roe on the NHL roster during camp after an impressive performance in game seven against the Calgary Flames.
Matej Blümel is an under-the-radar type of player who the Stars acquired through free agency this offseason. Blümel was the 100th overall pick by the Edmonton Oilers back in 2019 and has shown some flashes of excellence in a small sample size of North American hockey. He recently scored a hat trick in the Traverse City tournament last week and will be looking to carry that momentum into training camp.
Christian Kyrou was taken in round 2 of the 2022 NHL draft and while he won't play in the NHL this year, it will be very fun to see how he stacks up to current Stars defensemen as well as other defensemen in the NHL.
