The Cincinnati Reds announced the fourth and fifth starters for the starting rotation to be Luis Cessa and Conner Overton. The reasoning behind the Reds choosing Overton and Cessa is faulty, we'll explain why. This also leaves the Reds bullpen in a lurch, although Hunter Strickland was released (thankfully). How do the Reds plan on filling out the rest of the bullpen? Where do Derek Law and Joel Kuhnel factor in? Will there be another lefty for manager David Bell to use in close games? The Reds are still not sure if Joey Votto will be ready for Opening Day and the future hall of fame had some not-so encouraging comments about how he's feeling about the comeback. If he is out, look for Jason Vosler to make the roster and Wil Myers and Tyler Stephenson to share time at first base. Also, Elly De La Cruz and Christian Incarnation-Strand will begin the year on the injured list. This pushes back their possible debuts for the Reds this season but could mean good things for a couple of players.
