It wasn't the Penguins' night on Wednesday night, though they did get a point. Hunter is joined by Alex Metzger of the Last Word On Senator's podcast to recap this thriller as the officiating really dictated this game. They start the show with some ticky-tacky calls on both sides of things and how it's super rare when you see a team get 9 opportunities on the power play. Alex breaks down how the Senators could dictate terms on the man advantage against one of the best PKs in the league and how the Sens have had one of the best power plays in the league all year. After that, they look at how goaltending also played a big factor as Cam Talbot was a bit shaky while Casey DeSmith could've had that last one on Brady Tkachuk. Alex goes into which goals from Talbot were a bit shakier than others and how it's unlikely he gets the start for Friday's game. Hunter also again addresses the lack of depth on the Penguins as Jeff Carter probably had his worst game of the season. Heck, he even whiffed on a shorthanded two-on-one odd-man rush in this game. He also praises Jason Zucker and Evgeni Malkin for strong efforts before ending the show with a quick look ahead to Friday's rematch. What do the Penguins have to do to win it? What do the Senators have to do to sweep the home and home? All that, plus much more on this episode of Locked On Penguins.
