Department of Player Safety is ALL over the place, how the Wild and Jets will fill key injuries and the NHL Draft heads to Vegas

On today's episode of Locked on NHL, Seth Toupal of Locked on Wild and Nick Morgan of Locked on Predators discuss inconsistencies in player discipline over the last week. They talk through a wide range of issues, from Evander Kane's hit against Jonas Brodin receiving no discipline whatsoever to David Perron being suspended for six games and his agent Alan Walsh tweeting out a thread of players with more egregious hits that were suspended for fewer games. They move to critical injuries for the Minnesota Wild and Winnipeg Jets, as both Jonas Brodin and Kyle Connor figure to be out for an extended period of time. In the case of the Wild, they should be able to spread out Brodin's duties in the short term, but for the Jets replacing their leading scorer and best finisher is going to be something that will be hard to mask. At the end of the day the Jets will likely need to rely on their defense and goaltending in addition to forwards picking up their scoring. We finish by discussing the final full NHL Draft taking place in Las Vegas, and why smaller drafts going forward just won't hit the same way.
