What would appear to be a run-of-the-mill 2-0 win for the Mariners on a random Tuesday night in the middle of August was anything but. Logan Gilbert spun arguably the greatest start of his young major league career while simultaneously giving Juan Soto the worst night of his major league career. With 12 strikeouts, no walks, and just one hit allowed over seven innings, Gilbert etched himself into Mariners history while giving his club a sixth consecutive victory and pulling them within 2.0 games of the American League's third and final wild card.
