Could the SEC football schedules face a major change over the next few seasons?

When the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners announced they would join the SEC in 2024, commissioner Greg Sankey and all 16 SEC member schools decided that in that first season the conference would eliminate divisions and play an eight game conference schedule. However, that could change and it could change as soon as the 2026 season. Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte shared with the Longhorns alumni town hall that the SEC is in discussions of expanding the conference schedule to nine games. While that is not set in stone and is not guaranteed to happen, how would that effect LSU? Is that a good thing or a bad thing for the Tigers and for the conference as a whole?
