LSU FOOTBALL STATE OF THE SECONDARY | Where is Denver Harris? Which young CBs stood out at practice?

LSU football is less than three weeks away from the kickoff of the regular season and has been progressing throughout camp to ensure the team is ready to take on Florida State on Labor Day Weekend. So where does one position group of concern stand at this point throughout preseason preparation?

The secondary, more specifically the cornerbacks, are a big unknown for the Tigers this year. It was a thin group that found some depth through the transfer portal but questions remain how much of a polished, finished product the CBs can be come Week 1 in Orlando. There are also major question marks about one individual member of that room: Denver Harris. Harris, a 5-star recruit coming out of high school, found himself in the transfer portal after two suspensions at Texas A&M left him out of a majority of his true freshman season and there is fear that his behavioral issues may have followed him to Baton Rouge after he missed two practices in a row and was not featured in the team photo.
