After a stop-and-start freshman season, Malik Reneau could be primed for a breakout campaign next year for a number of reasons. Fellow sophomores-to-be CJ Gunn and Kaleb Banks could be similarly set for big second seasons after being relative non-factors as freshmen.

On today's episode of Locked on Hoosiers, Jacob Rude (@JacobRude) looks back at Reneau's freshman year, one that started well as he hit the ground running. Struggles in the middle of the season defined his frustrating campaign but Mike Woodson never lost trust in him as he figured things out at the end of the season.

CJ Gunn and Kaleb Banks did not have quite as many chances as freshmen as they found the transition a bit harder. But enough flashes of potential from the pair during the season are enough for optimism moving forward.

The show wraps by discussing how the new-look IU offense could set the trio up for big seasons. More space to operate on the interior, an emphasis on athleticism and perimeter play and 3-point shooting all play into their skillset and could set them up for big years.
