Both Jalen Hood-Schifino and Trayce Jackson-Davis were selected in Thursday's 2023 NBA Draft by the Lakers and Warriors, respectively. It was a night of different emotions, though, as Hood-Schifino was drafted early while Jackson-Davis had a very, very long wait until being taken with the No. 57 pick.
On today's episode of Locked on Hoosiers, Jacob Rude (@JacobRude) reacts to two more Hoosiers being drafted into the NBA. Jackson-Davis' fall through the second round was another example of the NBA overthinking something simple, but the end result is TJD ending in a great situation for him.
Hood-Schifino, meanwhile, landed with a Lakers team and franchise that has a great history of developing players and is a good situation. While there won't be pressure to be a leader of a rebuilding team, there will be pressure of being a member of team competing for a title.
The show wraps by looking at the grades and reactions for both players. Hood-Schifino is a divisive prospect and the grades show that, but across the board, the TJD selection was given lots of praise.
