The Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball team was dealt an injury blow on Wednesday when it was announced Jakai Newton had undergone a procedure. The injury leaves Mike Woodson and IU even further undermanned in the backcourt heading into the season.

On today's episode of Locked on Hoosiers (@LO_Hoosiers), Jacob Rude (@JacobRude) recaps the news about Newton's injury in which he had surgery on a previous injury. If he's out heading into the season, it leaves Indiana with just five scholarship guards on the roster.

Despite their guard limitations, the Hoosiers still have a number of fascinating potential number of lineups. On top of a starting lineup that'll feature the return of Xavier Johnson and the addition of Kel'el Ware and Mackenzie Mgbako, there are other lineups that feature other newcomers and young players that provide interesting possibilities. Anthony Walker, CJ Gunn, Gabe Cupps and Payton Sparks all represent different options for the Hoosiers this season.
