Hoosiers set to play UConn in Empire Classic, Memorial Stadium to be modernized

The Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball team will play the defending national champion UConn Huskies in the Empire Classic this season. Also on Monday, the Indiana University athletic department announced plans to modernize Memorial Stadium.

On today's episode of Locked on Hoosiers, Jacob Rude (@JacobRude) looks at the updated non-conference schedule for IU with the UConn game now known. The Huskies are a somewhat familiar foe for Indiana in recent years with two previous meetings since 2013.

IU football is continuing its investment in the football stadium by announcing the initiation of plans to modernize Memorial Stadium. After spending money in recent years closing off the south end and building a new weight room, this is another step in the commitment to investing in the football program.

The show wraps by looking at what the new updates could entail, ranging from improved concourses to updating restrooms and concessions. Potentially, IU could look to install a larger scoreboard, update lighting and add more individual seats.
