Jackson State beat Southern for the SWAC championship, and showed great resilience to deal with Deion Sanders rumors and the play of Glendon McDaniel. Davius Richard and Khalil Baker won the MEAC OPOY & DPOY. 

Jackson State beat Southern for the SWAC championship, and showed great resilience to deal with Deion Sanders rumors and the play of Glendon McDaniel. It looked as if the game was going to end at halftime until McDaniel came into the game. From that point, Southern actually outscored JSU. It made for a much more interesting game, and it’s all thanks to Glendon McDaniel. 

Davius Richard and Khalil Baker won the MEAC OPOY & DPOY. Richard was an absolute no brainer while Baker was in a hotly contested race.
