I agree that it's hard to keep a great HBCU head coach, but I want that to change. It's about building a legacy either through the NCAA Tournament or FCS Playoffs. I think the latter is the better road to start the change. Football coaches are easier to build a legacy for.
Talladega fell one game short of their first NAIA championship. A poor shooting stretch in the first half dug them into a hole that was just too big to climb out of. Their defense was good, but they scored their lowest point total of the season in this game.
The HBCU All Star game has announced their coaches. Just like the HBCU Legacy Bowl, they have 4 coaches representing the major HBCU conferences: CIAA, MEAC, SIAC, & SWAC. Corey Lowery, Lincoln, & Landon Bussie, Alcorn, represent the CIAA & SWAC. Robert Jones, Norfolk State, & Fred Watson, Miles, represent the MEAC & SIAC.
