Appearing on the Jeff Marek Show in Canada on Monday, VGK General Manager Kelly McCrimmon defended the team against criticism the Golden Knights have exploited the Long Term Injured Reserve system. He said the insinuation that these aren't significant are ridiculous. He said the NHL polices the rules and the league watches very carefully. The Golden Knights resume play Tuesday night in Seattle against the "stingy" Kraken. Over the past 34 games, Seattle has just allowed 2.26 goals a game, which is fourth in the league during that span. The teams split the first two meetings, with each club winning in their home cities. Seattle trails the Golden Knights by eight points so this is a four-point divisional game.
