The San Francisco Giants needed that one! They trailed the Diamondbacks 3-0 late, and were a couple innings away from yet another series loss to a below-.500 team. This time, it was not to be. Brandon Belt homered. Wilmer Flores hit a game-tying, pinch-hit homer in the eighth. And Brandon Crawford, up in a very similar spot to the one he failed in on Monday, delivered a walk-off single against former Giants closer Mark Melancon.
The win was a big morale boost for the SF Giants, who improved to 45-42. The Giants are now just one game back of the NL's final wild card position with the All-Star break and trade deadline fast approaching. The Giants' atrocious defense in the first half of the season is discussed, as well as whether the team regrets not doing more in the offseason.
