The Giants last won a postseason series in 2016. And it wasn't really even a series; it was a single-elimination wild card game. San Francisco Giants fans are restless and tired of waiting for a winner. That's why it doesn't make sense for the SF Giants to sit out this remaining free agent class in order to wait for next year's class, even though it's a deeper group with some really big name players mixed in (Juan Soto, anyone?).
