NHL Trade Deadline Buzz: Kane a Ranger, Leafs Keep Adding, Oilers Get Ekholm

If you are a fantasy hockey GM you need to have you eyes glued to the NHl news reel and the Locked on Fantasy Hockey Podcast for all the latest and breaking news that will impact your fantasy hockey team for now and the future. Such is the case with Wednesday's episode that takes a look into a number of hot NHL fantasy hockey topics, such as Patrick Kane joining an already stacked New York Rangers team after a storied career with the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Edmonton Oilers also finally made a move to try and shore up their weak if not terrible blue-liner group with the addition of Mattias Ekholm from the Nashville Predators at a very high cost that also included Tyson Barrie and a batch of picks. The Wild make a minor move with the Washington Capitals that we quickly discuss but the Oilers also finally moved on from much maligned forward Jesse Puljujarvi to the Carolina Hurricanes.

Perhaps the busiest team on the day was the Toronto Maple Leafs who once again shuffled their roster and brought in more size and toughness and fantasy hockey skill with deals with the Washington Capitals for Erik Gustafsson and with the Vancouver Canucks for former Maple Leafs defenseman Luke Schenn.
