For the second time in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the New Jersey Devils dropped game one by a score of 5-1. The Carolina Hurricanes played them tough, especially in the first period. However, the referees did miss some potential calls that could've helped out the Devils. Timo Meier did not play in this game as he is still recovering from the nose injury that he sustained from Jacob Trouba a few days ago. Even though he doesn't have a single point this postseason, his impact was greatly missed in this game.
