Jake Hatch talked about the comments and how they are well-meaning but can only carry Sitake and his team so far.

Former BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall made some comments about BYU's independent status during his weekly press conference at Virginia yesterday and the second segment was devoted to examining them and why they are necessarily a criticism or a shot at the Cougars as a program but rather their former leader speaking out in for them with their best interest in mind.
