Darcy Kuemper played a great game despite the loss and made 25 saves on 27 shots. What led to the loss was the multiple defensive breakdowns that led to key scoring opportunities. Joel Kiviranta picked off John Carlson as the defenseman tried to move the puck back up ice after the regrouping

Jake Oettinger led the Stars with a great performance in net. He made 27 saves on 27 shots. The 23-year-old entered Thursday’s game with a .953 save percentage and NHL-best 1.41 GAA over his first five starts.
