As the hosts predicted, the Montreal Canadiens and Minnesota Wild played an extremely dumb game of hockey on Thursday night loaded with bad defence, ugly goals and unexpected fights. A slow start from the Habs saw them claw out of a two-goal deficit to tie the game, before a bad penalty by Joel Armia saw them surrender another power play goal against, before Juraj Slafkovsky tied it late to force overtime. The Wild got the second point in the dying seconds thanks to a defensive miscue, but at the end of the game the only story people had on their mind was the poor officiating across the board once again.
