In a span of just over a year, the once-proud walls of the Pac-12 conference have crumbled irreparably. Now, only four universities remain standing defiantly amidst the ruins: Oregon State, Washington State, Stanford, and California.
The remaining eight schools, boasting more formidable athletic programs, have been divided evenly between the Big Ten and Big 12 conferences. Among the transfers, USC, UCLA, Washington, and Oregon have found new homes in the Big Ten, while Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, and Colorado have aligned themselves with the Big 12.
Amidst the flurry of changes, it's easy to overlook the distressing reality that a conference with a century-old legacy now teeters on the edge of oblivion, seemingly destined to merge with the Mountain West in order to salvage its legacy from fading into a mere historical footnote.
