September Showdown: Ohio State vs Notre Dame

The Ohio State Buckeyes football team travels to South Bend, Indiana to play the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a September showdown with huge college football playoff implications. Ryan Day's Buckeyes have tinkered with an slowly developing offense which they think they have figured out in time for this matchup with the Irish. Notre Dame quarterback Sam Hartman is a sixth year senior transfer from Wake Forest and he is one of the best in the country. Defensively, the Irish are very experienced up front and their three linebackers have 62 career starts. Make no mistake, the Fighting Irish front seven will have to get to Buckeyes quarterback Kyle McCord before he finds targets Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka or it could be a long night for Notre Dame fans. The Buckeyes have 5 stars of their own on the defensive front and they will need to be in Sam Hartman's face as well. Interestingly, the two best Buckeyes edge rushers, JT Tuimoloau and Jack Sawyer have no sacks this year. That must change this Saturday. 
Let's also not forget, at the same time as Ohio State plays Notre Dame, The Penn State Nittany Lions host their annual White-Out game vs the Iowa Hawkeyes.
