The NHL salary cap will see a minimal increase over the next couple years, and at the end of the 2023-2024 season it should see a significant increase. This will be one year AFTER Nathan MacKinnon signs his new deal, whatever and wherever (hopefully Colorado of course) that will be. But will the impending increase cause MacKinnon to rethink how he wants to sign his upcoming deal? Does he go short term and then sign again for a few million more, or does he just want to stay where he is in Colorado, sign long term and not care what the league will do with the cap? Kyle and I break it all down.
