The Colorado Avalanche were off for a week. Some thought that might hurt them going up against one of the top tier teams in the league in the Vegas Golden Knights. The time off proved to be of no concern for the Avalanche as they went on to crush Vegas, 7-1, in what turned into an ugly affair. Vegas lost control of the game early, and they took out their frustration the only way they know how. With poster boy of idiocy, Ryan Reaves injuring Ryan Graves. The Avalanche looked fresh. Coupled with back-up goalie Robin Lehner taking the start, the Avs showed no mercy in skating around the Knights at will. The Avalanche are prepared for a long, hard fought series and this game very well could be an anomaly, but at least for the next couple days, the Avs have to feel good about their start to the second round.
